Lewandowski back in training, but he'll miss PSG

Robert Lewandowski returned to Bayern Munich training on Monday, having suffered a knee ligament injury that had ruled him out of their recent matches.

The Pole missed out as Bayern lost 3-2 to Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final, and despite returning to work this week he will miss out of their second leg as well.

Lewandowski did train on Monday, but he was only put through exercises that didn't involve any ball work, and he is expected to miss yet more matches before he can step onto the pitch again, although no date has been given for his return.

The Bayern frontman currently tops the Bundesliga scoring charts with 35 goals to his name, and is also leading the way in the race to win the European Golden Shoe.

Prior to falling injured, he had looked odds on to beat Gerd Muller's record of 40 goals in a season in Germany's top tier. That record looks harder to reach now but, given his scoring form in recent years, it can't be ruled out until his return date is known.
