Tottenham have hit out at the racist abuse directed at Son Heung-min on social media.
South Korea star Son was at the centre of the decision to disallow an Edinson Cavani goal in Manchester United's 3-1 Premier League win at Spurs.
He went down holding his face after being fended off by Scott McTominay in the build-up to the goal, which referee Chris Kavanagh eventually ruled out after a VAR intervention.
The Spurs striker later received racist abuse on social media platforms, leading Tottenham to issue a statement on Twitter.
'Another matchday and more abhorrent racial abuse suffered by one of our players,' read the statement.
'This has again been reported to the platforms and we shall now undertake a full review alongside the Premier League to determine the most effective action moving forward.
'We stand with you, Sonny.'
Tottenham's statement came in response to the vile messages that were posted on both Instagram and Twitter.
One user wrote: 'F***ing Chinese dive hope you die', while another added: 'Dog eating, leg breaking f***tard'.
Another said: 'Go back to the military and man up f***ing poof – get shot while your there'.
Before someone else added: 'I swear I hope son dies this fat dog eating c***'.
Football is facing growing concern over the abuse directed at players on social media platforms, with stars regularly targeted.
Last month, Arsenal legend Thierry Henry announced he would leave social media until the platforms start taking racism seriously.
The Arsenal legend said he would only return to the platform once companies regulate online abuse ‘with the same vigour and ferocity’ as they tackle copyright infringements.
Facebook, which owns Instagram, have previously stated that there is 'no place' for discriminatory abuse on the ever-popular platform - according to Sky News.
However, Manchester United midfielder Fred received vile racist abuse following the FA Cup quarter-final exit to Leicester last week, in which the Brazilian made an error leading to Kelechi Iheanacho's opener.
Red Devils team-mates Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Axel Tuanzebe have also been abused online this campaign.
