Ghana FA president Kurt Okraku offers counsel to Partey over Atlético Madrid departure
Kurt Okraku was elected as the Ghana Football Association's new president after three rounds of voting on Friday.

Ghana Football Association (GFA) president Kurt Okraku has added his voice to the growing speculation regarding Thomas Partey's future at Spanish club Atlético.

Partey has been linked with a move away from the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano, with a series of clubs interested in paying his €50 million buy-out clause.

However, Mr. Okraku thinks the midfielder should weigh up his options before potentially sitting down to discuss a renewal.

"First and foremost, Thomas Partey has performed well after moving from the lower to the higher ranks," Okraku told Tropical Radio in Germany.

"He has done well for Atletico Madrid and the Black Stars [Ghana's national team].

"Now, looking ahead to his next level, I think he needs to consider three main factors, namely football, issue and family factors.

"So I will advise him to look at these three key areas properly before making a decision.

"After all, Atletico is a big club and so the variables are not very different from what he might find if he leaves."
