Teachers 'fight' over cheap breakfast at GES workshop (Photos)

- A section of teachers are angry with the Ghana Education Service

- The angry teachers have taken to social media to share photos of breakfast served them during a workshop

- The breakfast according to a section of the public does not befit the teachers

The Ghana Education Service (GES) is trending in the news for a not so good reason

An obviously peeved teacher took to social media to express her disgust at the GES for serving them with refreshment that was not worth their status

According to the teacher, they were served with Ghc1 beverage & 50 pesewas bread totaling Ghc1.50p as their snacks.

“In fact, am soo sad today. Am at a workshop organized by government through GES and this is what is served to teachers and heard teachers as snacks. A week long workshop starting from 8am to 5:30pm each day. Ooo when are we going to be respected,” she wrote.

Many are of the view that it was a total disrespected and disgrace to teaching as a profession.

Meanwhile, U.S-based Ghanaian academic and activist, Prof Stephen Kwaku Asare, popularly known as Kwaku Azar, has warned of the possible danger if government renames the University of Ghana.

In a post sighted on his Facebook page, the lawyer said “It will be disastrous to attempt to rename University of Ghana!DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT attempt it. Da Yie!"

His comments are believed to follow media reports of the Deputy Information Minister, Pious Enam Hadzide, who said he would not be surprised if the University of Ghana (UG) was renamed after the late Ghanaian statesman Joseph Boakye Danquah.
