A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko has incurred the wrath of some Ghanaians following his tweet which sought to compare the number of factories built by Ghana’s first President Dr. Kwame Nkrumah to what the Akufo-Addo led government has constructed under the ‘One-District-One-Factory’ project.

Mr. Asare Otchere-Darko on Thursday put up a tweet which read: “How many factories did the great Osagyefuo build in 9 years? How many so far are being built under 1D1F? Answers in numbers only please.”

But the response from some tweeps were punctuated with insults as some suggested it was ‘illogical’, ‘reckless’ and ‘shameful’ for the staunch NPP member to compare the two administrations.

The policy aims to transform the structure of the economy from one dependent on production and export of raw materials to a value-added industrialised economy, driven primarily by the private sector.

A section of the public is not too happy about government’s pace in fulfilling this and other promises as they have expressed utmost disappointment in the state of affairs.
