Quartet added to Central Coast squad

Daniel De Silva is heading back to Central Coast Mariners just ahead of the start of pre-season training.

The Gosford club, who have finished bottom of the A-League for the past two seasons, have announced the inclusions of De Silva and three other players in their squad for 2019-20.

We're really excited at the recruitment process that we have undertaken so far.

Alen Stajcic

De Silva is returning to the Mariners after the end of his one-year loan deal with Sydney FC.

The other players signed to the squad are Abraham Majok, Jai Ingham and Samuel Silvera.

Though he has yet to make his Socceroos debut, De Silva was included as an 18-year-old in Ange Postecoglou's initial squad ahead of the 2015 Asian Cup.

Last year he was the first player to be part of the A-League Intra-league loan system when he joined Sydney FC, going on to score two goals in 19 games.

Majok has signed a one-year deal after leaving Western Sydney Wanderers, while another, Silvera, is another ex-Wanderers player who has signed on a one-year scholarship deal.

New Zealand international attacker Ingham, 25, makes the move to the Mariners from Melbourne Victory where he spent the last two seasons. Coach Alen Stajcic said: "We're really excited at the recruitment process that we have undertaken so far.

"We have a few key positions that we need to fill, including a goalkeeper. We've nearly completed our domestic signings so far but we've still got our visa players to come which we will hopefully be in a position to announce shortly."

The Mariners have also confirmed the departures of four players at the end of their contracts, including Aiden O'Neill who had been on loan from Burnley.

Andrew Hoole, Ben Kennedy and Jem Karacan are the others to leave.

Central Coast are 33/1 to win the 2020 Grand Final.
