Turkish giants Besiktas are set to announce the capture of Daniel Opare after reportedly agreeing a deal with the Ghana defender.

The 27-year-old whose contract with German side Augsburg will run out this summer, has not played active football since February after he was expelled from the team over disagreement with the club's board.

Last week, GHANAsoccernet.com reported that the former Real Madrid youth star is close to becoming Besiktas first signing in the summer after being offered a three-year deal.

According to reports in Turkey, the right back, who spent the second half of the 2014/15 season on loan at BeÅŸiktaÅŸ from Porto, has agreed a deal with the Black Eagles and is set to be announced as their first summer signing.

He was linked to the likes of FC Schalke 04, Leicester City and Celtic but it appears Besiktas has stolen a march on their rivals.

Opare made 17 appearances for Augsburg in the just ended German Bundesliga campaign.
