Adabraka Celebrates Flood-Free Downpour
Some residents at the Adabraka Sahara Odorna Electoral Area in Accra have commended city and political authorities for working to solve the usual floods that come with heavy downpours in the area.

The residents unlike the usual complain to the city and political authorities anytime it rains, said they are happy that an 8-hour downpour that began yesterday and ended Friday morning did not result in flooding.

According to them, the area always gets flooded with the least rain and were in anticipation that the night long downpour would have resulted in serious floods.

The Odorna area in particular, home to a number of garages and artisans and a thriving market, is low-lying and therefore prone to floods. Many lives have perished in this regard in recent years.

Mr Gado Musah, a resident in an interview with Graphic Online thanked the government, member of parliament and city authorities for the work they have done here, adding that we are happy that there is no flood here. Even two-hour rains result in floods in this area but in spite of the many hours of rains yesterday, we didn’t get any flood.

Richard Anim, a taxi driver and resident said he appreciates the city authorities for the absence of floods in the Adabraka Sahara Odorna Electoral Area.
