Kojo Bonsu, Gyataba Etc Using Manhyia For Political Expediency

The Special Aide to the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Andy Owusu has warned the likes of Kojo Bonsu, Agyenim Boateng (Gyataba) and others exploiting the name of the Asante Kingdom to be wary of their actions.

According to him, the former Mayor of Kumasi, Kojo Bonsu as well as the founder of the United Front Party (UFP) Agyenim Boateng, have hidden agenda to ride on the back of Manhyia for their parochial political interest.

He is therefore warning them to be cautious of their action otherwise he will be forced to expose them.

The Personal Aide to the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP argues that the two individuals do not have true lineage to the Asante Kingdom but are only pretending just to score political points.

His comments come at the back of recent outrage by the Asantehene over what the King said was covert moves by some individuals within the corridors of power to undermine the Asante Stool.

But Andy Owusu, who is a true blooded Ashanti and Asanteman advocate says the powerful King has nothing to worry about, stressing that no one born of a woman can bring the Kingdom down.

"We want our King to relax and feel mighty on his powerful throne because none of us who are true blooded Ashanti will never sit aloof and allow any group or individuals to denigrate our powerful and revered Kingdom"

He further pointed out that even the individuals whose names have come out as being mastermind of the supposed plot truly appreciate the supreme authority of the Manhyia Palace.

"I have worked with both Gabby Otchere Darko and Asante Bediatuo; I know they can't do anything to undermine the Asante Kingdom and the Golden Stool. They all trace their upbringing and careers to Ashanti and can never do anything to subvert the powers of the Kingdom" he pointed out.

"Take Asante Bediatuo for example, he is virtually part of the Genfi family in Suame because that's where he was raised, Gabby's father is a true Asante, how can they work against us? It is not possible" He retorted

Andy Owusu further noted "If Gabby were to be working against the Asante Kingdom, I would have been his number one enemy, he dares not because he knows that will be a political suicide to him and the entire NPP"

"I remember during the heat of the Afoko and Kwabena Agyapong controversies and when there were fears of break up, Gabby categorically told me there is no way the NPP can disintegrate because its foundation is buried in the Manhyia Palace and anything institution that traces its root to the Asante Kingdom can never die" He recounted

Andy Owusu however believes that the comments by the Royal Majesty only demonstrate his love and affection for the NPP, explaining that for the King to have openly expressed his anger and not conceal it demonstrates that he wants the party to mend their ways.

KOJO BONSU'S AGENDA

According to Andy Owusu, the former Mayor is in the hunt for the running mate of the NDC and so the only way to stay relevant is to fuel political tension using the name of the Kingdom.

According to him, Kojo Bonsu's claims to Princehood is suspect as he is not truly related to the Offinso Stool as constantly claimed.

Kojo Bonsu and the likes have every right to fight for Asanteman but they must not hide behind their political parochial agenda and claim to be acting in the Kingdom's interest.

"If they do not stop their coward acts some of us will be forced to expose them and trace their roots because we know their backgrounds", he warned.
