'Yes, I Will Not Protect Your Legacy Of Corruption, Arrogance, Ineptitude, etc....' - Mahama Replies Akufo Addo

Former President John Dramani Mahama has fired back at President Akufo-Addo following the latter's comments that he (John Mahama), will destroy the good things his government has done should Ghanaians entrust the reins of power in Mahama's hands again.

President Akufo Addo, while on a visit to the Wa Naa’s palace requested that, former President John Mahama does not fit to be his successor because he has defeated him twice in two separate elections.

The President, in an address to supporters of the New Patriotic Party during a mini rally at Doboro in the Greater Accra region said that Mr.

Mahama would destroy his legacies should he become the next President, hence he should not be voted for in the upcoming December 2024 general elections.

Encouraging the people who were not able to register during the last registration exercise in 2020, Nana Akufo said, “The registration has started, I urge all persons yet to register to do so, your vote is your power.“I can’t hand over to someone I defeated twice and is not happy with everything I do, he will destroy the work that I have done.“Vote for Dr Bawumia, I have worked with him for the past seven and a half years, I have confidence in him, I know he can continue the good work,” he said.Reacting to Akufo Addo’s comments, Mr.

Mahama in a post on his X platform on Wednesday May 8, stated “Of course, I will not protect your ‘legacy’ of corruption, misgovernance, arrogance, ineptitude, bankrupt economy, increased unemployment, and pushing more of our people into the poverty bracket’’.

Earlier, John Mahama had sent a reply when the President first made the statement, stating that, the people of Ghana have the right to decide twho becomes the President, adding that, above all, it is the almighty God who enthrones Kings.
