The current Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has shown appreciation to God for his 74 years of life amidst various challenges he has faced over the years.Speaking at a thanksgiving service on Monday, May 6, 2024, at St.

Cyprian's Anglican Church, the Asantehene, while giving thanks to God, prayed for the spirit of discernment and impartiality, motivated by the will for truth.“In these 74 years, the issues I have encountered are many; I have seen bitter things and I have seen sweet things.

I have faced wrongful accusations, and things that were not true have been said about me.

What I held onto was the truth.“While I give thanks to God, I pray that He gives me the grace to pass judgment not by looking at faces but empowers me with the grace to walk with the truth,” the Asantehene said.Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II was born on May 6, 1950.

He has spent 25 years on the throne.The 74nd birthday of Otumfuo coincides with the year-long commemoration of the 25th anniversary of his ascension to the Golden Stool.Later on Monday night, a dinner event was held in honour of the Asantehene at the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Silver Jubilee Hall located at the Manhyia Palace.The events were attended by various dignitaries, including Ga Mantse Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, former President John Agyekum Kufuor, Chief of Staff Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, and former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings.
