Musician Rose Adjei Decries Hypocrisy Among Gospel Singers

Rose Adjei has lamented hypocrisy and disunity among Gospel singers. She spoke on Accra100.5FM’s Ayekoo Ayekoo, Tuesday, 12 December 2023.The Na God hitmaker said “so many people” are twofaced in the Gospel music fraternity.Resisting being specific, Rose said these were “prominent and talented people in the industry”.“This is why I always isolate myself,” she stressed.Sit-in host Akua Sonto pressed Rose Adjei to give her names or mention genders. In response, Rose noted she has “learned” if one has “not gotten to a certain level in life” or career, they “cannot talk about certain things,” or boldly name names without risking being tagged as jealous or envious. She, however, emphasised she has been the victim of “celebrated Gospel musicians,” and this has spanned “various years”.“An opportunity would come up for my service and someone would ask that they strike my name out,” she cited.Rose intimated, several times, she had been informed about what her colleagues were saying behind her by confidants. In spite of that, she said, she does not allow what she has been reliably informed about to taint her relationship with those who slander her.“I don’t let people know I know about what they’ve said behind me.

There’ll be no problems between us for you to think I am reacting to what you did to me.“I just live my normal life.

I don’t go where they are,” she said.Rose Adjei grieved that, “in Ghana,” when one who has patiently endured wrongdoing finally speaks up, they are reminded of religious commitments and virtues and silenced.“Meanwhile, the offender is given no rebuke,” she bemoaned further.
