Benjamin Otchere-Ankrah, a lecturer at the Central University, commenting on the tape during Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" morning show called for investigations into it stressing the "things said on the tape are very serious. We can't just sweep it under the carpet".He feared for the future of the country stating this trend of secret recordings is breaking social relationships and called for punishment to the persons heard on the tape if it is established that the tape is true."Such people should be punished," he insisted.He also condemned the politics attached to the appointment of an Inspector General of Police, particularly when one could say the Police Chief's allegiance should be to the government in power.He advised that the Police should be allowed to do their work without political interferences and questioned why an IGP whose service is to the nation should become a political puppet."Let's allow them to do their work professionally," he emphasized.
