Ousted NDC MP, Gyakye Quayson Declares Intention To Contest Assin North Parliamentary Seat Again

Embattled former NDC Member of Parliament for Assin North Constituency, James Gyakye Quayson has declared his intention to contest the parliamentary seat again on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 as set by the Electoral Commission.The Electoral Commission (EC) has set Tuesday, June 27, 2023, as the date for a by-election in the Assin North constituency following the removal of the former Member of Parliament, James Gyakye Quayson by a Supreme Court ruling.It may be recalled that the Supreme Court directed Parliament to expunge his name from its records; declaring his election as null and void.As a result, the Assin North seat was declared vacant by Parliament on Tuesday, May 30.Read his full statement below
