Andre Ayew Becomes Ghana's All-Time Top Scorer At AFCON

Andre Ayew scored his 10th goal of the AFCON to become Ghana’s leading top scorer in the competition as Ghana was held by Gabon 1-1 in their second group game at the Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo.

The Al Sadd forward scored in the 19th minute to give the Black Stars the lead in the first half.

The Panthers of Gabon started the game with a lot of intensity and were close to scoring in the opening minutes of the game through Bruno Ecuele Manga. His effort was blocked for a corner kick

The Black Stars started to warm up into the game from the eighth minute as they controlled possession with their quick passes and inter positional play.

Andre Ayew scored the opening goal for the Black Stars in the 19th minute with a sweet finish after turning his marker and hitting a powerful drive from 25 yards.

His first goal of the tournament makes him the leading top scorer for Ghana in the Africa Cup of Nations as he surpasses Asamoah Gyan.

It was his 10th goal in the Africa Cup of Nations

Ayew is currently Ghana’s all-time top scorer in the Afcon with 10 goals

In the 61st minute, Jojo Wolocot came up with a brilliant save to deny Gabon from scoring

Baba Iddrisu pulled up an injury and was substituted by Joseph Paintsil.

Jim Allevinah scored a controversial goal late in the game to deny Ghana thier first win of the competition.
