Elivava Nominated Among 100 Most Influential People In The World
Sensational Afrobeat singer, Tina Mensah, best known by her stage name Elivava has been nominated as one of the ‘100 Most Influential People’ by Afrimpact Magazine, a magazine based in the United States of America.

The suave-singing songstress who, according to the magazine, was nominated due to her resolve to use her “fame to help others, especially by empowering women and getting rid of child poverty” will be celebrated together with other nominees selected across the globe on November 30th, 2018 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA during the magazine’s ‘A.I.M Awards’.

Elivava, inspired by the abuse she suffered as a teenager, has rolled out a number of initiatives to help better the lot of women and children in society. As she says “It has now become a dream to help and support women and girls like me in my rural area and the world as a whole.” One such project is the ‘’Elivava Homecoming Women Empowerment Program and Initiative’’ whose aim, among others, is to empower women to become more independent and successful in their businesses. As a start, she has initiated a project in her village called Baika in the Volta region to construct a local market for the women. “Through this” she says “the women will be able to educate their children and feed them as well, something they are unable to do at the moment.” Elivava’s commitment to serving humanity has earned her the position of Ghana Chair of the Global Goodwill Ambassadors (GGA), a volunteer association whose mission is to spread goodwill by highlighting good humanitarian work to encourage others.

Since bursting onto the music scene in 2005, Elivava has churned out a number of soulful hits that speak deeply to the emotions of her audience earning her performances in her native Ghana, Denmark, Germany, France, among other countries. With storylines that are always drawn from her African and Ghanaian backgrounds, she has managed to sell the continent and its music to a large foreign audience.

Some of her hit singles include “Bume”, “Toboli”, “Save Them” and ‘Elivava World” among others. In her early career, she worked as a backing vocalist with Rocky Dawuni, Kojo Antwi, Samini, VIP, and others.
