The Minister for Inner-Cities and Zongo Development (MICZD), Dr. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid will embark on a two- day working visit of some selected Zongo communities and Inner-Cities in the Greater Accra Region.
The Minister’s tour will take him to Madina in the La-Nkwantang Municipality, Chorkor and Fadama, all in the Greater Accra Region, on Thursday August 23, and Friday August 24, 2018.
The tour is to afford the Minister the opportunity to acquaint himself with the developments and programmes being embarked upon by the Ministry in these communities.
In Madina, the Minster will call on the Chief of Madina, Chief Baba Seidu and the heads of the various ethnic groups in the community. The Minister will inspect the AstroTurf project in the municipality as well as some drainage projects.
On the second day of the tour, the Minister will pay a courtesy call on the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu at his residence on Friday where he will perform Juma prayers with the Chief Imam. Together with the National Chief Imam, the Minister will cut sod for the construction of an Astro Turf at Fadama, to be named after the National Chief Imam.
The Minister will follow it up with visits to some of the rehabilitated schools, soccer pitches and sanitation facilities under construction in the Zongo communities.
As part of the itinerary, he will also visit Chorkor as well as other Inner-Cities across the region as part of the mandate for the establishment of the Ministry.
The Minister will take the opportunity to discuss his vision for the Ministry and to chart a new course for the Ministry in line President Akufo-Addo’s vision for Inner-Cities and Zongo communities.
