MUST READ: Gov't/FIFA Resolution On GFA....'Court Processes To Wind Up Football Asso. Halted!'
Government has resolved to stop the court processes of "winding up of the Ghana Football Association (GFA)."

This resolution follows a meeting between the Government of Ghana and the top hierarchy of the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) today.

The meeting comes on the back of a warning from FIFA to suspend the country's FA if the liquidation case against the GFA is not withdrawn.

The world football governing body released a statement asking the government to withdraw their petition to liquidate the GFA by Monday, August 27 or face a ban from all football-related activities.

To resolve the impasse, both parties agreed to a meeting.

On Thursday a government delegation led by the Sports Minister, Isaac Asiamah and comprising of the Deputy Chief of Staff, Samuel A. Jinapor; Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah; Deputy-Attorney General, Godfred Yeboah Dame and the head of the FIFA/CAF liaison team, Dr. Kofi Amoah, met with a delegation of FIFA officials led by its President, Mr Gianni Infantino.

Present at the meeting was FIFA Secretary General, Madam Fatma Samoura and other representatives of the FIFA administration.

The meeting seems to have produced positive results with the two parties resolving to collaborate to advance their respective interests.

FIFA upon consultation with government and CAF shall establish a normalization committee to replace the Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association.
