Jerry Anaba known by his stage name as Okomfo Kwadee after his hit debut album named after himself Kwadee became the people’s favorite because of his ingenuity and captivating story-telling style of music.

Okomfo Kwadee is the ambassador for Willingway Rehab center.

The musician after success in the music industry with hit songs like ‘Kwaadee/Aboro ne Bayie’, ‘Ataa Adwoa’, ‘ka wo nan to so’ among others was reported to have suffered from a mental illness.

Rumors rife he got missing which became the talk of the town and it took several days before he was eventually found.

He was said to have been treated of his mental predicament which we were informed is as a result of a drug abuse for 6 years.

In 2013, he was also reported to have had a relapse and got dumped at the willing Ways foundation rehabilitation center.

Nothing was heard from the musician until the founder and leader of the center, Lydia Abena Manu, reached out Ghpage.com to reveal that no one has visited him since the day he was brought to the center to receive treatment.

The musician union of Ghana, MUSIGA, followed it up and visited their member at the center today. And it was there that we had pictures and a video of the current state of the musician.

He attended Martyrs of Uganda Preparatory School in Kumasi after which he proceeded to Navrongo Senior Secondary School.

He has since birth dreamt of becoming a musician. His dreams came true by the kind courtesy of Vybetown Records, a subsidiary of Vybetown Entertainment Consult, an entertainment consultancy based in Kumasi.

His debut album, ‘Kwaadee’ which was also the title track brought out his ingenuity. With his powerful and traditional lyrics that are very typical of the true Ghanaian, he took hiplife to a completely different level

In the first of its kind, Okomfo goes back to the grassroots narrating stories (just like in anansesem) while rhyming.

This new style held everyone, both old and young spellbound while impacting the very useful experience and advice on the listeners.
