During the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting on October 1, Madam Akua Donkor, the Founder and Leader of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), voiced her concerns over the National Democratic Congress (NDC's)persistent criticism of the Electoral Commission (EC).
In a passionate address, she accused the NDC of attempting to undermine the EC's credibility, stating, "Their behaviour seems designed to incite disorder and discredit an institution that is vital for our democracy." Donkor expressed her frustration with the NDC's tactics, arguing that such actions could destabilize the political environment in Ghana. "We must remember that the EC plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of our elections.
Continuous attacks on the commission do not benefit anyone," she emphasized.
In contrast, she praised the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for its supportive stance toward the EC, urging the NDC to follow suit. "It's important for all parties to rally behind the EC, especially in these crucial times," she urged.
