Kofi Akpaloo, leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana(LPG), has aimed a dig at the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for their claims of discrepancies in the voters' register, which they argue require a forensic audit before the upcoming elections.
Speaking during an Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting on October 1 monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Akpaloo contended that such demands are impractical given the limited time before the elections. "The Electoral Commission has already identified over 50,000 deceased individuals on the register.
This is not a situation that justifies the discrepancies alleged by the NDC," Akpaloo stated, emphasizing that no deceased person would rise to vote, thereby affirming the integrity of the electoral process.
His remarks come in response to the NDC's assertion that a forensic audit is essential to ensure electoral credibility.
