Residents of Kofiasua community in Dormaa in the Bono region have vowed to resist any attempt to engage in illegal mining activities known as galamsey in their community.
The chief and residents have expressed their commitment to protecting their land and environment from the harmful effects of illegal mining.
Galamsey, or illegal mining, has been a major issue in many communities across Ghana, causing extensive damage to the environment and threatening the livelihoods of local residents.
In Kofiasua, however, the chief and residents have shown a united front against galamsey and are determined to protect their community from its destructive effects.
