A Security Expert, Dr Adam Bonaa has cautioned against persons taking the law into their own hands while demonstrating against ills in society.
For instance, he said, everybody is concerned about illegal small-scale mining popularly known as galamsey due to the impact on the water bodies and the environment in general.
However, in demonstrating against galamsey, the protesters should not take the law into their own hands. "We are all against Galamsey but if you are demonstrating you don't take the law into your own hands." Dr Bonaa said on the Key Points on TV3 Saturday, September 28 while commenting on the arrest of the Democracy Hub protesters.
Also commenting on this issue, a Former Deputy Attorney General Dr Dominic Ayine said that the alleged blocking of roads and attempt to fight the Police by the Democracy Hub protesters during their demonstration last week was condemnable.
