The government has announced an increase in the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) allowance for teaching and non-teaching staff in pre-tertiary schools nationwide.

According to the Ministry of Education, the CPD allowance for professional teachers has been doubled from GHS1,200 to GH¢2,400 annually, while non-professional teachers will now receive GHS1,800, up from GH¢800.

This increase underscores government's commitment to enhancing the professional growth of educators and ensuring that they are equipped with the latest teaching methodologies and skills to improve learning outcomes.

The CPD allowance, introduced in 2020, was designed to support teachers' participation in ongoing training programmes aimed at upgrading their skills.
