Lead Convenor of the Democracy Hub, Oliver Barker-Vormawor, became a subject of discussion after he stole a police towing car key and threw it away during an anti-galamsey protest in Accra on September 21, 2024.
During the protest, which aimed to fight against illegal mining in the country, the demonstrators blocked the road with a vehicle carrying foodstuffs.
As a result, the police brought in a towing vehicle to carry it away.
Oliver was captured on camera secretly removing the car key and running with it to throw it away.
