Nana Frimpomaa, the Convention People's Party (CPP) presidential candidate, has called for the immediate release of the 'Stop Galamsey Now' protestors currently in detention.

The protestors, who have been advocating for an end to illegal mining activities (known as "galamsey") in Ghana, were taken into custody during their recent demonstrations.

Nana Frimpomaa has officially written to Gertrude Torkornoo, the Chief Justice, seeking swift legal action for their release. "Following the detention of the Stop Galamsey Now protestors, I, Nana Frimpomaa, Presidential Candidate of the Convention People's Party (CPP), have officially written to Her Ladyship Mrs.

Gertrude Torkornoo, Chief Justice of the Republic of Ghana. "In my letter, I appeal to the Chief Justice to initiate an abridgement of time for all incarcerated protestors, ensuring their prompt release," she said in a press statement.
