Bolgatanga East lawmaker Dr Dominic Ayine has described the decision by the Election Commission to exhibit the final voter register online as laughable.
He explained that there are several people in parts of the country, peri-urban and mostly rural areas, including his constituency who do not have smartphones to go online to check the register. "This decision is laughable", he said on the Key Points on TV3 Saturday September 28.
The Electoral Commission (EC) has assured the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the General Public that the Commission will re-exhibit the corrected Provisional Voters Register (PVR) online before the Final Register is printed for the 2024 Elections.
This was contained in a letter in response to the petition submitted to the EC by the NDC at the end of the party's demonstration on Tuesday, 17th September, 2024.
