Deputy Chairperson for Electoral Services at the , Dr.
Bossman Asare, has revealed the reason behind the founder and leader of the Ghana Freedom Party, Madam Akua Donkor, arriving late during the 2024 presidential election balloting exercise held at the head office of the EC.
According to the deputy chair, he personally had to call Akua Donkor, who was initially absent during the beginning of the exercise, to find out her whereabouts as neither she nor a representative was available for the exercise held on September 20, 2024. "She mentioned she was at Circle and she would be joining us soon… I had to call her on the phone to find out where she was because she wasn't there, and no other rep from her party was around, the deputy chairperson said during an interview on Metro TV.
Akua Donkor, who is part of 13 candidates approved by the EC for the December 7 presidential election, arrived midway through the balloting.
