A spokesperson for Vice President Dr.
Mahamudu Bawumia and the New Patriotic Party's(NPP's) Parliamentary Candidate for Tano North, Dr.Gideon Boako has openly criticized the recent Democracy Hub protests, labelling them as politically motivated rather than genuine conservation efforts.
His remarks come in the wake of widespread demonstrations that have been organized around the pressing issue of illegal mining, commonly referred to as "galamsey." Dr Boako's skepticism centers on the timing of the protests, which he argues align suspiciously close to the upcoming elections.
He stated, "Anyone leading a protest and believes that if any human being dies is nothing, it means their demonstration was more political than conservationists.
