Renowned Ghanaian actor Adjetey Anang has expressed his concern over the deteriorating state of water bodies in parts of the country due to the activities of illegal mining (galamsey).

In an interview on 3FM's 3Lounge, Anang expressed how devastated he was to see the extent of pollution of our water bodies and urged everyone to act quickly to solve the problem. "It was heart-breaking because we must have seen this coming and everybody sat there unconcerned. "It's time for us to make noise about this and keep making noise because our lives are at stake at this moment," Anang lamented.

Anang voiced his support for ongoing efforts to put an end to the galamsey menace. "I support the causes of making sure that we arrest this case so that lives are saved," he stated.

He, however, stated that these forms of activism should be done lawfully, noting, "As long as we are doing these things within the confines of the law, we're good, we're safe.
