The Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Professor Gordon Awandare, has annulled the contempo vetting organised by the Dean of Student Affairs, dispatch in to abode a acrimonious altercation over the Students' Representative Council (SRC) balloter process.

This action follows allegations by the Balloter Commission (EC) that the Dean's appointment had apparent favouritism appear assertive candidates.

The altercation began back the Dean captivated a vetting affair on Saturday, 3 August 2024, in acknowledgment to the allegations.

However, the EC alone this vetting and rescheduled it for Tuesday, 20 August 2024, arch to added tensions.

An emergency affair was convened on Monday, 5 August 2024, involving key stakeholders including the Pro Vice-Chancellor, the Dean and Vice Dean of Students, the University Legal Council, the UGSRC Chief Justice, vetting console members, Balloter Commissioners, and the aspirants.

During this meeting, it was bent that the Dean's vetting was constitutionally invalid due to apropos aloft by several aspirants and console members.

To restore candor to the SRC balloter process, a new vetting has been appointed for Sunday, 11 August 2024 at 6 pm.
