The Ghana Police Service has disclosed that claims that one of the protesters remanded for two weeks is pregnant is a lie.

This was after two separate tests, one at the police hospital and one at a private facility, came out negative.

A statement from the Police said the lady in question, whose name is given as Gloria Vera Louise never mentioned in court or during the arrest that she was pregnant but to verify the veracity of her claim in public, they had to subject her to the two separate tests.

It will be remembered that Vera while being taken into police custody claimed she was pregnant; a claim that was confirmed by a relative who spoke to the media. "In the case of the alleged pregnant woman, Gloria Vera Louise, We would like to clarify that at the time of the arrest, there was no visible indication that she was pregnant.
