Anyone who has something to say to the Asantehene Otumfuo Oso Tutu II by way of criticism must channel this criticism to the queen mother of the Asante Kingdom, a royal historian for the palace has said.  According to the Royal historian for the Asantehene and the Manhyia Palace, Osei Bonsu Sarfo Kantanka, it is against cultural etiquette for anybody to criticize the Asantehene.  His comments come after Afia Pokua, a journalist at Agoo TV, criticised the Asantehene for his perceived silence amid ongoing conflicts involving his subjects and other tribes, including the Bonos. On Onua FM's 'Bribi Gye Gye wo,' hosted by Mona Gucci, Pokua expressed frustration with what she sees as Ashantis proving superiority over other tribes and the Asantehene's refusal to act on it.

These statements have sparked massive outrage among the Ashantis, with many individuals, including sub-chiefs and queen mothers, openly voicing their criticism.

Nobody in Ghana qualified to criticize Asantehene  The royal historian said there is a laid down procedure to follow to criticize the Asante Monarch which is to go through the Queen mother.  Osei Bonsu Sarfo Kantanka who works for the Asantehene, told the BBC in an interview restreamed by MyNewsGh.com that anybody wanting to criticise the leader must follow these specific steps otherwise the person risks being in trouble.  "You go through the queen mother - she is the only person who can rebuke him.

If you don't go through the queen mother and then you do it yourself, then you're in trouble," he said Share this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pinterest (Opens in new window) Related Topics:Feature Advertisement You may like Ghana is growing down - Fiifi Kwetey expresses worry Interruption in power supply blamed on limited Gas supply from Atuabo Mahama will ensure ECG MD accounts for his stewardship - Stan Dogbe NDC Will Promote Responsible Mining - Prof.
