The University of Ghana has announced an indefinite postponement of the commencement of the 2024/2025 academic year due to an ongoing strike by several tertiary employee unions.
This decision was confirmed in a statement released by the Office of the Registrar on Wednesday, September 25, 2024.
The development has impacted students, faculty, and other stakeholders across the university community.
The strike involves key unions, including the Teachers and Educational Workers Union (TEWU), the Senior Staff Association of Universities of Ghana (SSA-UoG), and the Federation of University Senior Staff Association of Ghana (FUSSAG).
