Legal practitioner Elorm Ama Governor and more than nine other protesters have been arrested by the police during an ongoing demonstration organized by Democracy Hub in protest of the economic crisis.
Reports indicate that the protesters were standing on the pavement near the 37 lorry station when they were rounded up by the police.
Earlier, over 20 demonstrators were arrested for various infractions, including blocking roads, toppling police barriers, and obstructing traffic during the group's protest at the 37 Roundabout in Accra.
Democracy Hub is currently leading a three-day demonstration against the government over economic hardships, which began on Saturday, September 21, and is expected to end on Monday, September 23.
As part of their demands, the group is calling on the government to take immediate action to end illegal mining, which has devastated major river bodies across the country.
Initially, they intended to march to the Jubilee House to present their petition, but the Ghana Police Service blocked the attempt, citing the area as a security zone.
