The Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo) has announced that efforts are underway to restore power to Yendi and other communities along the Eastern Corridor after a total blackout.

The power outage, which has affected several towns and villages, was caused by a burnt underground cable, making immediate restoration impossible.

In a statement, NEDCo apologised for the inconvenience caused to residents and businesses, assuring customers that efforts are being made to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

The company appealed to affected communities to remain patient as repair work continues.
