The Ministry of Finance is expected to release approximately $11 million to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) to facilitate the completion of its Know Your Customer (KYC) project.
This financial support aims to strengthen ECG's operational efficiency and boost revenue collection.
This development was revealed in a statement issued by the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.
The statement highlighted the potential impact of the KYC project, noting that its completion is expected to help ECG increase its monthly revenue collection to GH¢1.4 billion, which will in turn bolster the revenue base for sector-wide disbursement.
