Robert Nii Armah, a resident of Ledzokuku, has challenged, what he says are claims by New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate Dr.
Bernard Okoe Boye, that he is leading the construction of roads in the constituency.
According to him, Dr Okoe Boye should not take credit for the ongoing road construction projects in the constituency because it is the effort of the current Member of Parliament for the area, Benjamin Narteh Ayiku, and Okoe Boye.
Speaking on The Constituency with Philip Nii Lartey on Channel One TV, Mr Armah argued that the credit for the roads under construction should not go to Okoe Boye, who is currently not a sitting Member of Parliament. "We often get into the games of politics with everything.
But Ayiku has been in parliament and he was asked about the development he has been able to bring into the constituency.
He stated that he has been able to construct roads; from Twibleo to the Kpornor area and now it is left with the road leading to Maamli.
When is he done, he will go to the Nyonmo Specs road. "Anytime, work is to begin on the roads, it goes through the assembly and because it is the NPP, Okoe Boye (the NPP parliamentary Candidate), claims credit as if he is the one constructing the roads.
But he is not the one doing the construction because he is not a member of parliament. "The road construction goes through parliament for it to be approved before it is implemented and since Okoe Boye is not in parliament how come he is taking credit for the road constructions here?" he questioned.
Mr Armah continued: "Ayiku has been able to construct a clinic in the area.
He has been able to fix concrete bridges on gutters that were previously not usable, I can recollect about five of those.
he has been helping the poor in society.
Recently paid the bills of some LEKMA patients."
