The National Chief Imam, Osmanu Nuhu Sharabutu, has urged political leaders and stakeholders, particularly the (EC), to ensure transparency and fairness in the pending elections, according to a report by 3news.com.

He also entreated political parties in the country to desist from using inflammatory language and speeches that could incite violence, especially among the youth. "No politician is worth the blood of any citizen," he is quoted to have said.

The National Chief Imam further stated that Ghana's hard-won peace and stability should not be jeopardized by political ambition and entreated the electorates to to prioritize peace during the election period, noting that the country has been blessed with security and stability since 1992, a gift that should not be taken for granted, the report added.
