A tragic incident has occurred in the Amansie West District of the Ashanti Region, where an Assembly Member from Aboabo has been shot dead by armed security officers, leaving two others with gunshot wounds.
Residents, in an interview with OTEC News Reporter Kwame Agyenim Boateng, confirmed that the Assembly Member, Samuel Danquah, was pronounced dead at a hospital after being shot by a soldier.
The incident happened on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, following a clash between youth from Mpatuam and armed military personnel on a mining concession in the area.
According to the Assembly Member for Mpatuam, Kwame Sakyi, the confrontation broke out after agitated youth accused Asanko Mines' security of killing a miner the previous day.
