In a moving display of compassion and leadership, the Member of for Abuakwa South, Dr Kingsley Agyemang, has intervened to rescue a 13-year-old expectant mother, Nafisatu Adwoa, whose story has drawn national attention and deep sympathy.
Nafisatu, a young girl from a village near Boamang in the Ashanti Region, shared her ordeal on Oyerepa Afutuo, a social intervention programme on Oyerepa TV where the marginalized appeal for support.
Her revelation was heartbreaking: at only 13 years old and in the final weeks of pregnancy, she had been left without a home, medical care or even the basic necessities of life after being rejected by her parents.
According to her account, she became pregnant after being ganged raped by 5 teenagers in her community.
