The Deputy Spokesperson for the Running Mate's campaign of the (NDC), Eric Adjei, has cautioned the of Ghana (EC) that it will face repercussions for its refusal to permit a forensic audit of the Voters' Register.

He believes the EC's stubbornness is fostering mistrust in the electoral process, potentially leading to national chaos. "The of Ghana should understand that their actions cannot create problems without them facing the consequences," he wrote on Facebook, as reported by MyNewsGh.com.

The NDC had called for a forensic audit of the Voters' Register to address concerns about manipulation, such as illegal voter transfers and the inclusion of questionable voters.

Following a recent voter exhibition exercise, the NDC presented evidence of illegal voter transfers and other alleged manipulations, prompting their demand for an independent forensic audit to ensure the register's accuracy and credibility.

However, the EC has maintained that the NDC's concerns have been resolved and sees no need for a forensic audit.

In response, the NDC has planned a nationwide demonstration on September 27, 2024, to demand the audit.

The EC continues to assert that there is no cause for alarm.
