The Aggrieved Newly Posted Teachers group has announced plans to stage a demonstration on September 23, 2025, to protest delays in the payment of their salaries.
The group, made up of graduates from the Colleges of Education and universities, said some of its members have gone without pay for 12 months, while others have not received salaries for the past 8 months.
At a press briefing in Accra on Monday, September 8, 2025, the group's Lead Convener, Simon Kofi Nartey, appealed to President John Dramani Mahama to intervene and direct the Ministry of Finance to release funds for payment. "We know that His Excellency, John Dramani Mahama, the President of Ghana, is a listening president.
We humbly call for his urgent intervention to ensure that the Ministry of Finance releases the necessary funds to pay our arrears and salaries without further delay," he stated.
