Head of Player Relations at the Professional Football Association of Ghana (PFAG), Yussif Chibsah, says the Black Stars cannot afford to lose against Mali.  The Black Stars will host the Eagles of Mali today at the Accra Sports Stadium in the Matchday 8 games in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The senior national team has come under criticism after drawing 1-1 against Chad in the Matchday 7 games in N'Djamena last week.

Ahead of the crucial game, Chibsah has urged the team to bounce back to winning ways, stressing that they cannot disappoint the country. "The Black Stars have the whole country's destiny in their pocket today and can't afford to disappoint Ghanaians," he told Asempa FM. "We have the boys; now it's up to our strikers to take their chances against Mali today," he added.

The former Ghana international also called on Ghanaians to rally behind the team despite dropping points against Chad. "Ghanaians should forget the pain of the Chad game and rally behind the Black Stars today." Ghana remain at the top of Group I with 16 points, with just a point separating them and Comoros.
