The defeated parliamentary candidate for the in the September 2, 2025, Akwatia by-election, Solomon Kwame Asumadu, has admitted that the (NDC)'s campaign message caused his heavy defeat.
According to Asumadu, the NDC convincingly presented a message that the constituents needed a Member of Parliament from the Majority side who could easily go to President John Dramani Mahama and ask for developmental projects for the constituency.
Speaking to Angel FM after his defeat, he admitted that the constituents bought into the message presented by the NDC and that became very difficult for him as an opposition member to convince them otherwise.
The NDC, he added, indicated that since the party had already formed a super Majority in Parliament, an opposition MP for a constituency like Akwatia, which needed a lot of development, will not be advisable.
