Former (NPP) Member of (MP) for Ledzokuku, Dr Bernard Okoe Boye, has stated that he is not surprised the (NDC) won the parliamentary by-election in the Akwatia constituency held on September 2, 2025.
Speaking in an interview on Metro TV on September 5, 2025, Dr Okoe Boye said that the ruling NDC is now performing well, as compared to his party the NPP, which he said is 'rebuilding,' and so the defeat was not a surprise to him.
He likened the performance of the NDC to that of English Premier League giants, Liverpool, whom he said one could surely bet would win the league in other terms. "People are rational in their behaviour, you know.
So, that is one of the reasons why I am not surprised that the NDC won this election.
