Executive Council Member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Nana Oduro Sarfo, has dismissed claims that Management Committee Members of the national teams receive winning bonuses.
His clarification comes in the wake of comments by the Minister of Youth and Sports, who announced that government had abolished winning bonuses for Black Stars management ahead of Ghana's 2026 World Cup qualifier against Chad.
Speaking to Connect FM, Oduro Sarfo stressed that management officials are entitled only to per diems and qualification bonuses, not match-winning bonuses as has been suggested. "It is not true that any management member of the national teams, from the U-17 to the Black Stars, takes a winning bonus," he explained. "What they receive are per diems and a qualification bonus when the team qualifies.
You cannot expect someone to travel, render a service, and only the players benefit from per diems.
