Elizabeth Ohene has criticised members of the investigative committee that recommended the removal of Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo, highlighting a cryptic social media post by former Auditor-General Daniel Domelevo. "Hours before the presidency made the announcement, a member of the investigative committee, Mr.

Daniel Domelevo, posted this on social media: 'The strife is over, the Battle done.

If you know, you know.'" Ohene explained that the phrase comes from a famous Easter hymn celebrating Christ's resurrection: 'The strife is o'er, the battle done, The victory of life is won, The song of triumph has begun, Alleluia.'" To her, the post symbolised triumph, not solemn duty - and that deeply troubled her. "There is nothing to show that they think this was a painful, necessary duty.

All one can see is satisfaction in having achieved a glorious task." She concluded with one of her strongest statements yet: "They have conquered, they have triumphed.
