The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has introduced a minimum monthly salary of GHS 700 for players in the Women's Premier League (WPL).

The new policy forms part of broader efforts to improve conditions of service for footballers and to professionalise the domestic game.

It follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) and the adoption of a standard contract template across clubs.

According to the GFA, the minimum salary requirement will apply to all contracts signed during the next registration window.
