There seems to be chaos in Akwatia Constituency as an altercation involving the National Democratic Congress's (NDC) National Vice Chairman, Chief Sofo Azorka, led to the reported assault of the opposition New Patriotic Party's (NPP) 3rd Vice Chairman.

The incident, which occurred while voting was ongoing in the constituency closely contested by-election, sparked outrage among some constituents who accused security personnel of failing to maintain order. "We won't condone any violence here in Akwatia.

If the police can't do their work, they should leave and let us handle our affairs," one visibly frustrated constituent told reporters.

Authorities say calm has since been restored, but concerns remain high given Akwatia's status as one of the most hotly contested swing seats between the governing NDC and the opposition NPP.
